International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics

IUTAM Symposium on Computer Models in Biomechanics: from Nano to Macro

August 29 - September 02, 2011

Stanford University, California, USA

Book of Proceedings

The Proceedings of this IUTAM Symposium will be published by Springer-Verlag, Heidelberg. The overall aim of the Proceedings is to compile an overview of the state-of-the art across the range of topics covered in the Symposium that will serve as a definitive source of reference. Each author is invited to provide a review-type contribution based on the topic presented at the Symposium with this aim in mind.

Your paper may be submitted in either LaTeX or Word format according to the instructions in the following folders. The Word file 'A_u_t_h_o_r-Word.zip' describes the format style for papers produced in Word. For LaTeX users, a file 'A_u_t_h_o_r-LaTeX.zip' containing all the required files is attached. At the final stage, we will convert the Word files to LaTeX to ensure consistency. The length of the manuscripts including figures, tables and references should not exceed 14 pages. The preferred format for figures for LaTeX users is *.eps, but other formats might be possible. Please ask if in doubt. Most of the figures should be in black and white since color is, unfortunately, only feasible for a few images in this volume.

An important aspect of the volume will be the Index. Instructions for LaTeX users for identifying words to include in the Index are contained in the file of instructions 'author.tex'. For Word users we request that you send us a list of appropriate words for inclusion in the Index and we will compile the relevant part of the Index.

The deadline for submissions is 31 December 2011. In order to ensure that the proceedings are of a highest scientific standard all papers will be subject to rigorous review by two referees. After review and revision we expect to have finalized versions of the papers by 31 March, 2012. If you have any questions concerning your submission please do not hesitate to ask.
